The Urban Child Institute Board of Directors Appoints a New Board Chair

Memphis, Tennessee - December 07, 2016 - The Urban Child Institute Board of Directors met on Thursday, Jan. 7 in a regularly-scheduled board meeting.

Highlights of the meeting include:

• Jill Crocker, an executive at Bank of America, was appointed board chair.
• Reelected board member Jim Witherington, managing partner at SSM partners, to a three-year term
• Reelected board member Cyril Chang, professor of economics at the University of Memphis, to a three-year term
• Elected Jon McCullers, chair of the department of pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, to a three-year term
• The Board approved a motion for a five percent gifting strategy for 2016, which equates to approximately an $8 million investment, in community organizations working to support children’s needs.
